SAUMIL'S SMALL WORLD
New Idea About NetBeans
Hi, guys, i'm facing very big problem of speed using netbeans. It takes a very long time. Is it possible that we can have profile kind of thing. SO every profile has limited(selected while creating profile)plug-ins. Also user has limited number of virtual space and his projects can separated from other users. Well,in this ways user can have less no. of plug-ins if he intends to do only small java programs. If he wants to do Servlets and JSP again it may not need some other plug-ins. So this may increase a speed. Reply to this is it possible?? Any other good option for this........

Hey Saumil,
what's up? I saw your idea, I personally think it's awesome. I've had some speed issues before too and also some memory problems, since when you're working with 512mb or less it's very very difficult to load netbeans in a acceptable time. I'm not user if it's possible to do what you said, but if it is please count on me to help you out to make it possible. let's wait and see if anyone from the netbeans development team answers.

Hey Saumil,
Wazz up!! Man even i've seen this happening "the performance degradation".. What u think is to create profiles right? But i think that creating profiles is not the right way of doing this.. I guess to improve the performance of NetBeans, it has to load only those modules required by the project that is presently selected, and not all the modules, in the memory.. Like suppose if u r working with servlets or jsp then only the module responsible for building and deploying servlets and jsp should be loaded and so on... I guess this would increase the performance of NetBeans.. But i m not sure how NetBeans handles it.. So its good to just wait and watch what happens...

hay,Alekh but when net beans is loaded first time how would it knows How much modules it should load.Because it doesnt know any details about project. And if he intends to do wht u suggested then it will also take time.
