There are more than 3 velodromes in the UK. Not enough but still more than 3.
IIRC, Portsmouth, Newport, Cardiff, Ca r marthen, Manchester, Edinburgh (although that may be closing), Hearn Hill (out door), Reading and Manchester. Until recently there was one in the East End of London as well. Those are just the ones I have heard of. I imagine there must be one in East Anglia as well but if there is I've not heard of it.
Still a great result for track cycling in Britain.
A quick google suggests 20. http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/fac/facilities_search.asp?fac_cp=1&fac_mode=0&fac_id=&fac_myfacilities=No&RefID=&RefType=&fac_kw=&fac_regions=All+Regions&fac_disc=Track+Racing&fac_resultspp=20

"manchester is a world class facility but its location will limit the number of people who can have access on a regular basis. "
There are 12 million people in the NW/Yorkshire/Humberside area of the UK, nearly 2.5 million of whom live in the Greater Manchester area. Are you trying to say that's not enough people to justify the Velodrome? Or is it just a case of rampant southern bias, yet again?

its a sad day when people use the north/south devide to take a statement out of context, I was trying to say that there should be more facilities like Manchester across the whole of the UK.
