Line Tools Module updated

I have uploaded the updated Line Tools module on my NetBeans 5.0 Update Center described here.

It now supports sorting of selected lines in ascending or descending order with optional ability to remove duplicate lines.

Great module indeed - sorting is a really useful feature! The remove dup lines button doesn't seem to go disabled when others do...

In addition the all the buttons get enabled when I select a Class in Project Tab or when I have not selected any lines in an editor window; I now feeling dangerous that it might sort all the lines in the source file in alphabetical order...

The remove duplicate lines (toggle) button indicates a mode and hence is always enabled.

The sort actions do anything only when there are more than one lines selected in the editor. The only issue is that the action enablement logic is not implemented. I will fix it soon. Thanks for the feedback.

Implemented action enablement.

It doesn't seem to work (well, it seems to work "occasionally")

Could it be a problem with NB6?

Posted by Alex Lam on March 07, 2006 at 05:08 AM PST #

It may be. I have not tried it in NB6. I will give it a try.

Can you send me the scenario (few previous mouse clicks/keyboard focuses) in which it does not work?

Started of with disabled buttons...

1) Open a file in project view.
2) Select a few lines using mouse
3) If buttons are not enabled, unselect them and go back to step 2.

Now buttons are enabled...

4) Unselect the lines; the buttons will stay enabled.
5) Select a different entry in Project view, and that buttons will become disabled again.

Thanks. I will look into it.
