Want to have more friends, be a runner...

I'm constantly amazed by the number of folks that run. Not sure how I never noticed before I started running, maybe I didn't know what to look for. While getting a Starbucks this morning, I saw one of the mom from my daugthers preschool. She was looking kind of casual and wearing a pair of new Asics that hadn't seen much action. It turns out that she is a runner and was getting some caffiene before heading out. We ended up talking for 10 minutes or so. And the talk was all running related. There seems to be a subculture around running. I also figured out that my son's principal is a runner and just ran the local springtime 10 miler. Now anytime I see her, we talk running at some point during the conversation. (Congrats on the 10 miler Ashby).
I got up early yesterday morning and did 7 miles (my long run for the week) and the rest of the day, I was the most laid back person (which totally isn't me). But I have to admit that many times during the run, I questioned my decision to train for a marathon. I either need to get new music for my iPod or get my runner partner on my schedule, quick.
