Rode 30 miles in Winchester yesterday with Boys&Girls Club ride...

Monday Jun 02, 2008

I had planned to ride my road bike yesterday with a friend locally, but got a voicemail late on Saturday asking if I wanted to do an organized ride in Winchester yesterday instead of the local ride. I have always wanted to see the area and the saddle of the bike is a great place from which to look around. I had started out to do the 50 mile option, but since I wasn't sure I remembered how to change gears, after 15 tough miles to start, at the rest area, I decided that being old and wise was better than young, bold and foolish.

It was a near perfect day, minus a ton of headwind and I loved the ride. I was so chilled out all day long and some of that effect is still in place. I must admit that my neck is a bit stiff and my rear is still feeling every bump as well. Thankfully I have a nice bike with graphite post...
