Weekend in Philly...
Monday Sep 24, 2007
First, I must admit that I had low expectations of Philly and decided that seeing the King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Institute. Silly me. Downtown Philly was a vibrant city that was alive and held something interesting around every corner.
We stayed at the Philly Westin on 17th and Market and it was great. The service was awesome and the doorman knew my kids from the taxis we took. We did manage to get an awesome upgrade to a suite that really made life easy and a lot more fun.
The Tut exhibit was a hit with the nine year old crowd as was the rest of the Franklin Institute... What a great resource for the City of Brotherly Love. Sadly, if Tut exhibit will be packed up in a few days and shipped to London for several months display before going back to Egypt, never to be sent out again.
We also did the Liberty Bell on Sunday morning, which was worth the time, but I'm glad we didn't go very far just to see it.
I would definitely go back to Philly for another weekend at some point.

Hope you found a decent cheesesteak while visiting...
