I'm having a bit of writer's block peeps. There is so much to talk about, but I fear I may be talked out in the short term. Sometimes an event of CommunityOne/JavaOne's magnitude can do that to a marketing gal like me. So I was whining via twitter that I just couldn't budge this writer's block and threw out a call for writing prompts. My senior director, one of the most stylish people I know, told me to write about the shoes I was wearing. Now, I work from home full time. I think that needs to be said. And, when working from home, I find comfort is king. Just saying. So today I'm wearing flip flops. I love flip flops. I would say 9 times out of 10 between the months of April and October (I live in Cali) you'll find me in flip flops. They can be beaded, embroidered, embellished, or plain....I love them all. And have quite the collection. Today's pair come from Old Navy and are gold metallic. Classy, I know. But they are easy, comfy, and cool. And with temperatures reaching 100 today, a necessity. So there you have it. I'm a flip flop addict. We'll return to our regularly scheduled blogging tomorrow! ;)

So I am back at work this week after a wonderful two week vacation that included (not in any particular order): sledding, christmas parties (yes, plural), gourmet meals, lots of chocolate, discovering the wonder that is Whole Foods (hold me, I feel my grocery budget going out the window), visiting a dear friend on her cool sailboat, and lots and lots of family downtime.
But now I'm back in the game kids! And let me tell you, the next few months leading up to JavaOne are going to be insane! I hope you will come along for the ride :)

We are fast approaching Thanksgiving. I am not hosting the event this year, my Mother in Law is. I'm only in charge of stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, and gravy. With such a simple list, you'd think there would be no issue right? Wrong. I have in my arsenal three terrific stuffing recipes. And the terrificness (I know, not a word, stay with me here) of said recipes has been independently verified by non-partial family and friends. So they are, in fact, crowd pleasers. So my problem is this: which one to make. Dear readers, please help me out here. My recipes include the standard sourdough and sage stuffing, apple and cranberry stuffing, and cornbread and sausage stuffing. Which sounds best to y'all? Or could I bring three smaller batches (one of each)? What would you do? I'm driving The Husband crazy with debating of the merits of each recipe so I'm leaning on y'all to help me out. Happy Monday!

Congratulations to Melanie and James. Each of you will receive a Java 10th Anniversary t-shirt. Just mail you address to heidi dot dailey at sun dot com and I"ll pop your prize in the mail next week. And, since Melanie did mention Facebook it seems appropriate to remind all of you to join the Sun Developer Network group on Facebook. We're waiting for you! Have a great weekend y'all! Heidi

This is cool. And I'm not gonna lie. I love that Tommy Jr. is 100% Java. I also have to admit that I'm a little creeped out about cars driving themselves, but I'll get over it. Especially if it means that someday, I won't have to navigate I-80 in rush hour traffic myself. I could be napping. Or eating a sandwhich. A messy one. :) Heidi
