By now, if you are coming to San Francisco for next's weeks festivities you are either:

a. packing and getting ready to leave

or

b. en route to SF

If you aren't coming our way, or even if you are and you just want to see what's shaking in other parts of the conference (dude, the conference is huge....both in space and in session options), Sun is providing you with a plethora of social media options to help keep you in the game. Check it out here.

And of course, as always, I'll be bloggin' it real time right here at the SDN'sider. I'll be arriving in SF tomorrow afternoon and will be hitting the ground running. Look for an update here tomorrow night with some sneek peeks. And, my partner in crime, Jenn Winger aka maybeimright and I will be taping a pre-conference wrap up youtube video tomorrow night too. So hang tight for that.

A lot going on peeps. A lot. Hope you enjoy the show!

Kids, I'm up to my eyeballs this week, but I had to stop and let you know about this:

Java Technology Fundamentals is a great resource for learning the Java
platform, but it's
not the only great resource that Sun Microsystems
offers. Please join us in a chat that is
being held in the online world
of Second Life to learn about the many other resources we
have to offer
to help you learn and understand the many Java technologies, and the
various
platforms.

Join Dana Nourie November 29 at 9-10 AM PDT in Second Life at the Sun Microsystems Developer Playground to chat about how you can learn the Java platform.

Please note that you need to have the Second Life software, which is
free, downloaded and
installed on your computer. You also need to log
in to Second Life for the
Sun Sun Microsystems Developer Playground
to work.

See you there!

If you are a mover and shaker on wall street, or if you just have a handful of stocks, you'll want to know that Sun Microsystems is no longer trading as SUNW but as JAVA. Jonathan has a great blog post here that really does a deep dive into the "why" of this move.
