Geeks Gone Wild
I was offline from blogging for a while (mainly on vacation), and lots of new things happened while I was gone!
- The dev builds suddenly come with a native installer for Mac, whee! It even adds a dock icon. (If your IDE doesn't start after using the new installer, uninstall it, and try to set the JDK to JDK5 in the installer -- JDK6 for Mac is a bit iffy.)
- The welcome screen suddenly has two tabs, and even lists my recent projects. I also really like the new green splashscreen.
- A new round of the NetCat 6.0 program starts -- sign up for it until Wednesday (!) if you want to send direct feedback about NB6 for your usecase.
- And Kiril's Substance Look&Feel is back with a vengeance (have a look at the View menu to see how to use it after installation).
In other news, some geeks went wild and installed NetBeans on an Oqo handheld :-o
The easiest way to do this is to download a platform-independent archive distribution (Click "Other Systems and Languages" on the download page). Cool, eh?

What's wrong with putting it in a .app package like any sensible OS X app?
