What happened to the CommunityDocs wiki?

Woah, did you look at the CommunityDocs wiki recently that James started? Check out the table how many people added their tutorials and translations! Awesome. :-D

What happened? Those people sent us a file with their notes, or used the wiki directly to record their notes, how they solved a problem or completed a task. It can be anything YOU are interested in, "Building a Complete SOA Application", "DRYML syntax highlighting", "Template-based System Development using UML", a "Visual Database Explorer", or translations of existing tutorials. Chances are very high that there are developers out there working on the same thing as you, and they'd really appreciate a tip or two.

Do you have a cool tech tip to share?

  1. Go to usersguide.netbeans.org
  2. Log on with your NetBeans user name
  3. Scroll down a bit and click the button to subscribe to the dev@usersguide.netbeans.org mailing lists
  4. Tell the list what you want to write. If you like, you can fill it in yourself into the CommunityDocs wiki.
  5. Create your page on the NetBeans wiki and start writing. :-) Don't worry if English is not not native language, we will find a native speaker to look over the text if you wish.

Or would you rather like to translate an existing tutorial into your own language?

You can also join a local NetBeans or Java User Group (NUG or JUG), and demonstrate your tutorial to people there.

These are just a couple of examples of what you can do to get the conversation with other developers started. Thank you for your help! Just see how much the NetBeans community already achieved. :-)
