I was just sitting down to write my 2006 sign-off and noticed that my esteemed colleague Max has tagged me. As I've been away from the screen for most of the week I hadn't been following the meme so I've just gone back through Max's entry to find my tag ancestors.

So, here are the five things that (most) people didn't know about me :

1. I'm English. Not Irish, Scottish, South African, Australian or New Zealandish (?).
2. Like Max I'm a nomad - the USA is the fourth country I've lived in. The others are England, Cyprus and Malta.
3. When I was 16 or 17 I broke my jaw in a sports related incident
4. That sports related incident was actually a night-club brawl at the end of my Rugby Club's anual Christmas Carol fund-raiser
5. Before children (Lilly 5, Jack 2) I was a complete adrenalin junky. I've parapented from 5,000ft mountains and landed on the beach (In Turkey) and with a snowboard (in the French Alps); I've climbed (and lead) many of Britains best known climbs; crawled through some of the best caves. I've kayaked some of the best rivers and surf (including the Severn Bore); wrecked bikes and broken bones flying down mountain trails on a bike and SCUBA dived in the Red Sea, the Caribean and the Indian Ocean.
