One of my favorite Christmas presents this year: the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 D from MegaBlocks! I'm really hoping they come out with a Klingon Bird of Prey next! One of the other MegaBlocks sets I've been really impressed with is the USAF A-10 Thunderbolt (it's in my office at work...) And now, what you've been waiting for, the pics:

UCS Y-Wing under the radar
Wow, this one snuck up on me.
Theforce.net reported today that the UCS Y-Wing Starfighter is now available from the Lego Shop. I checked, and it's running $119 to preorder for Nov 2004 delivery. I hadn't visited the trusty FBTB.net, and now I'm really sorry. They broke this story back on September 25. FBTB please set up an RSS feed! I'm hooked on Bloglines to get all my news now :-) The UCS Snowspeeder is also a very cool model, but nothing tops the UCS Star Destroyer! (2004-09-29 08:43:51.0) Permalink See also: Lego
Star Destroyer: Build Complete!
This is a follow-up to my Father's Day present post. After 225 pages of instructions, 3104 lego pieces, and 24 hours of build time, the Star Destroyer is finally complete! I have to say it is my favorite piece in my collection, and you aren't a true Star Wars Lego fan without one. Here are some final pics!
Elevated view. This thing is at least 3 feet long!
Side view. Check out the detail on the sides and tower!
Rear view. The engines are incredible.
Re-enactment of the Falcon chase in Empire Strikes Back. Wish I had enough to make a Super Star Destroyer... (2004-07-31 14:18:03.0) Permalink Comments [2] See also: Lego
LEGO Star Wars Video Game
The Official Star Wars website reported that Giant Interactive Entertainment and Traveller's Tales will be creating a Star Wars action-adventure video game using the Star Wars Lego universe! I'm a HUGE fan and collector of the Star Wars Lego series. In fact, I think I'm missing only about ten sets. For a complete list of available sets, check out my favorite Star Wars Lego website: From Bricks To Bothans (fbtb.net) Along those lines, here's the latest update on my Star Destroyer build (pics to follow later):
Happy Father's Day (early)
My family and I were walking through the Colorado Mills outlet mall, and I begged to stop by the Lego outlet store, and I saw it... ![]() I've been drooling over this set since it was first released. My wife said, "I was going to order this on the Lego site for you anyways for Father's Day, so let's go ahead and get it. This way we don't have to pay shipping!" Not having to pay shipping is a very good thing. This set weighs as much as a small child! I was able to show considerable restraint in front of my children by not jumping up and down, but I am an extremely happy man! The set was too big to fit in a bag, so I had to carry it through the mall like a very proud papa. Interestingly enough, every male in the mall turned their heads to check it out. Most mumbled something about "is that for you, or for your kids?" My silly grin says it all... (2004-06-11 08:19:59.0) Permalink See also: Lego |
