Nietzsche and parenthood

Well, it's been a while since my last blog entry and this is in large part due to the thing I mentioned in my last entry, becoming a parent. As anyone who is a parent knows, it sure is a lot of work. (So much for my ideas of getting other things done in my spare time, in fact, so much for 'spare time').

Without going into details the event was not the introduction to parenthood I was expecting and spending a week sitting in the neonatal intensive care unit I got to learn a lot of long medical words that I really wished I dodn't have to know about.

Dylan, our son is now home and doing well, although he does a have a few challenges ahead. One of my favorite quotes is by the German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". I had some serious doubts that was true over the last few weeks, but I'm beginning to think he might have been right after all.

I am very glad to hear Dylan is ok. My boy is 8 months old - we were lucky and he was home in a couple of days. spare time? are you nuts? no more of that for a while...

Glad to hear all is well. Alexandr (3 days old) should be home real soon. I've given up on spare time 4 years ago with our first child. I don't regret it.
