We work hard here at Sun, apparently too hard sometimes.

I was on an internal conference call yesterday with a large number of other senior engineers-- Distinguished Engineers, Fellows, Directors, and others. It was a lunch-time meeting to discuss some serious stuff--the architecture of a large system Sun may build in the future. As the meeting began, there was some initial rustling of lunch materials that eventually subsided and gave way to another sound.

Heavy breathing, close to a microphone. Repeated requests for people to mute their phones yielding no improvement. Eventually we realize it isn't 900-number style breathing, but the steady, slow breathing of someone sleeping soundly through our architectural discussions.
