It was with some satisfaction that my nephew Matthew informed me recently that his parents could no longer tell him to "act his age, not his shoe size," an exhortation I heard occasionally while growing up. Why? Because at age 13 he wears men's size 14 shoes! He is using this solid and impressive platform to launch his career as a very talented basketball player, playing locally here in Massachusetts as well as nationally at a number of venues.
