HPC Consortium: Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modeling

Hello from Dresden. I have an interesting challenge summarizing the talk given here at the Sun HPC Consortium by Rafal Maszkowski from the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modeling (ICM) in Poland. The problem is that the talk centered around an HPC product that Sun will not announce until ISC 2008 later this week, across the Elbe River from the Consortium hotel where I am sitting.

So, let me say the following. If you remember from the movie 2010: The Year We Make Contact, when Dr. Floyd is warned to leave Jupiter within two days and asks Bowman what is about to happen, Bowman replies "Something wonderful." Shortly thereafter, the very LARGE monolith disappeared from space above Jupiter to be replaced by many, many very SMALL black monoliths on the surface of the planet.

Those who know what will be announced at the show will get the allusion. My apologies to everyone else, but check back later and I'll explain.
