My Ignorance: Pakistan

Pakistan has obviously been a frequent topic in the news over the last five years. But I was surprised to learn recently it isn't quite the small country I had assumed. Think about your own assumptions, and then answer this question: Where in the top 100 most populous countries does Pakistan fall? Once you have an answer, put your mouse on the graphic below. Were you surprised?

Yes, I am surprised. It is also about 43rd in size of area according to the CIA world factbook at approximately 804,000 Square km. This means there is about 195 people per sq km. U.S. is 33 people per sq km. It said nothing about it being the source of terrorism for the whole world but having 195 people per sq km and actually it is probably higher since there is less arable land, I think I would be cranky too.
