Sri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) was inaugurated by Dr A.P.J kalam in year 2004.
It is spread in some 500 Acres , surrounded by Trikuta & kailash Hills.
This place is 40 KM away from Jammu city and is totally safe(i am there for 3 years & still alive !).
Communication is good (both transport & cell phone).

Currently it provides BTech,MBA,MBE and Master in Philosophy & culture courses other than P.Hd.BTech is available in

* Admission to all engineering courses is through AIEEE entrance only.
Campus Life
All students admitted to university have to stay in university hostels.We have a really good hostel with charges from 7200(for single room)
to 3000(tipple) for an year.
There is central mess system which costs around 1500 a month.

First Convocation
First Convocation of university was held on 25 th of April.
It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
