Sun's presence in Second Life will soon be enhanced with a Solaris Campus. Don't think all traditional campus - think a fun, unique and
very community oriented virtual campus.
The experience will be live on October 10, 2008 and we hope will be
improved over time with your feedback and participation.
Here are some of the things you can expect from the Solaris Campus:
- Come chat with Solaris experts, learn what's new in Solaris and have fun with other Solaris users in a 3D environment!
- Come immerse yourself in Solaris 10 and share your thoughts.
- Come anytime and explore the area's information.
- Meet and network wtih Solaris experts and
other Sun employees and Sun fans.
- Participate in a Sun Solaris scavenger hunt and win a prize!
- Office hours - there will be a schedule posted of when Sun
Solaris experts will be in-world at the Solaris Campus to chat with you
about any Solaris topic you are interested in or help to answer Solaris
related questions.
- Look for an immersive experience on Solaris features soon (not at
the initial launch)

- Chat with Solaris author Darryl Gove on Utilizing CMT System
Darryl is the author of the recent SMI Press book entitled Solaris Application Programming.
Details: It's all about developing multi-threaded/parallel applications
on Solaris. CMT = Chip Multi-Threading.
