Sun Software ISV News & Offers The Solar System

Most people, when they think of load balancers, think "that's the network guy's problem." But Zeus' ZXTM software-only load balancer is actually designed for application developers.

But why would you bring a load balancer into your process? Simple - by offloading SSL and other tasks, and caching common requests, ZXTM can increase an application's performance by as much as 800%. It also has the means to improve application security by inspecting and scrubbing traffic, and by letting developers establish rules (using the Zeus TrafficScript scripting language) for masking sensitive information and handling suspicious traffic.

In this 12-minute GlassFish Unhooked podcast interview with Zeus product manager Owen Garrett, we cover in more detail the many ways ZXTM improves application performance and security, and offer documentation and free trial info to help you get started with ZXTM.

If you're already convinced that ZXTM will help you, feel free to jump right to our Zeus landing page for a white paper and links to free trial offers.

PS- I did this interview with a mouthful of novocaine. See if you can tell!

I'm so giddy about JavaOne next week that I have to EXPRESS, y'all!
I'm saying "y'all" now - having lived in Austin for 3 years in the 90's, I figure I can claim it.

The momentum around GlassFish is palpable and I want EVERY SINGLE EXHIBITOR on the JavaOne floor to join us.

  • If you support GlassFish, please join the GlassFish Portfolio Partner Offering.
  • If you're already a member, let's drive business with our huge and growing community.
  • If you don't support GlassFish, let's talk about why you should.

We announced the GlassFish partner initiative at JavaOne last year, with over 40 charter numbers (whom we love and thank). Since then, we've more than doubled our membership, adding over 50 new members, and created specialized tracks for systems integrators, GlassFish ESB partners and GlassFish Communication Server (SailFin) mobile solution providers.

Later this summer, we'll announce some great new vehicles for promoting partner products and connecting with customers. I'm dying to spill the beans now but don't want to lessen the impact for the 17 people, including 3 of my cousins, who are likely to read this.

HOWEVER, if we meet on the JavaOne floor, I might whisper something. I'll be in a black Sparky fedora, GlassFish T-shirt and the newly updated Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses. It's a Blues Brothers thing. I'm a full-blooded Chicagoan - and thus can DEFINITELY claim it - and we are absolutely on a mission from God.

See you at the show!
