Introduction and Installation of OpenSolaris

I did my first Technical Demonstration on Introduction and Installation to OpenSolaris on Tuesday. It extended for about two hours. Topics that I covered included Introduction to Operating Systems, advantages of Unix, why Solaris is considered to be better than other operating systems. I also gave a demonstration of installing Solaris by doing all the steps in a virtual machine. Also I showed the Solaris environment and few basic commands of Unix.
The participation was on the lower side (around 30 students) mainly because on that day many classes were over early and students had left for hostel. Also at the same time there was another event scheduled by Infosys Campus Connect, so the crowd, sort of , got divided.
All in all, in-spite of the low participation, it was a good event.
