Presentation Minimizer

Saturday Dec 08, 2007

This project was created to make presentations easily portable. It helps in compressing the size of presentations. I realize that often presentations go well past the email attachment size limit (on various email services) when we use too many high quality images and other media. It is compatible with OpenOffice.org 2.3 and StarOffice 8 Update 8. And surprisingly it also works on Microsoft Powerpoint presentations. This tool will definitely be of great help.

And guess what, there has already been 768 downloads in about 2 days.

Visit this page for more information or download.

I am still awaiting a Mac OS X version. For all other platforms it is already available.
I hope from next time releases for all platforms will come out simultaneously.

Won't be much help to Mac OS X users unless it gains support for Keynote too. Starting with OS X compatibility would be a good step nonetheless.

You are right, but you also have to agree that Open Document Format and obviously the M$ Office formats have taken up the "industry standard" status. In that way keynote has a long way to go, and being restricted to Mac it cannot grow its user base. At the same time, its a paid software, while OpenOffice.org is free and open source.
And although iWork may be preferred by Mac users, for cross platform capabilities I guess OpenOffice, org is the best option. Also when you have products like NeoOffice specifically for Mac, I feel products like presentation minimizer should also take care of the Mac needs.
