I think; therefore, I blog.
At
least that’s the way of Web 2.0.
Funny
thing is, I’d never heard of Web 2.0 before setting foot at CEC in San Francisco this year.
Perhaps I have been too buried in my home office, head down working on sales
support, and I just allowed the terminology to pass me by. Now, everywhere I
turn, it is all about communication and
communities on the web. What a great
way to reinvigorate engineers who are feeling disconnected! (Yes, amazing when
you think just how connected we all are with phones, email, instant messaging,
etc…but it does happen.)
I
will explain the amazement in brief. I am a writer. I am also a technologist.
The two do not always mesh, or at least, they hadn’t in the past. The
evolution of blogging is bringing back a skill that had started to disappear in
the professional front: writing.
And
I am ecstatic.
So,
kudos to the Sun team for making it happen. I can’t
wait to see the continued evolution of our engineering community. I am gladly
going to take part in the efforts that have started here, and will continue to
do my part in making sure the knowledge share increase.
