A little while ago, Scott McNealy gave a fun keynote at the Plug & Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale. He's always entertaining and unorthodox when he gives tips to startup companies in the audience. Here's a summary:
Tip #1: Come up with a counter-intuitive idea, otherwise, chances are someone else is already running with it (and not being that successful).
Tip #2: Break the rules of business without being unethical as it will help you attract the brightest talent.
Tip #3: Don't be greedy when looking for funding as limited funding will force you to be creative and efficient.
Tip #4: Embrace a cause to motivate your employees as humans are not just coin-operated.
Tip #5: Marry the right person possibly after you launch your startup.
Enjoy the video.
