Running Windows in xVM Server
Last week, Microsoft quietly announced a new program called the Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP). The program is designed to ensure that Windows-based virtual machines run well and are fully supported when operating inside a certified Hypervisor. Sun has been working closely with Microsoft to certify xVM Server for some time, and we see it as a really positive step. By ensuring that our mutual customers can run Windows with confidence inside xVM Server, we believe it will enhance customer's ability to build heterogeneous virtualized environements hosting multiple operating systems. Expect to see more discussion on this in the coming months as we roll out xVM Server.
