Why Use Sun Connection Inventory?

Yesterday I wrote about how to get into the early access for the Sun Connection inventory channel? Well, you might ask why you'd want to do that. Here's an answer. You are kidding, right ? The video is not really explicit about what Sun will do with the collected information, and, just between us, the client that is supposed to initiate the discovery tells me that an IP address with a 0 in it is invalid, hilarious : "The IP Address 192.168.0.1 is not valid, specifically 0 is not valid (needs to be between 1 and 254)"

Ah, you found a bug in the URL validator. Thanks for letting me know. I just talked to the engineers and they've already spun a fix. It should be live on Thursday.
