Still no OpenOffice ?
What are you meant to do with it :p ?

Edward, OpenOffice is included. It is on the package repository (http://pkg.opensolaris.org). to add it just type 'pfexec pkg install openoffice@0.5.11'
I've installed Indy2 and am using it as my everyday desktop. I installed openoffice and with the addition of VirtualBox running the occasional windows program I have a complete environment.
As for integration into OpenSolaris ... it is in progress. Hop over to any of the discussions about caiman or ips on opensolaris and you will see they are making great progress. They are wanting to make sure ips and the rest of the technology are solid before integrating them into the main line tree. Just like any development project.
