Can you tell us about the application, site, or service in which you have adopted GlassFish?

How and when did you first find out about GlassFish?
Google for Rails and WAR file turned up one of Arun's blogs.

Did you go through an evaluation process before selecting GlassFish?
As early adopters, we attempted to build a WAR file and deploy Rails to both Tomcat and Glassfish. Tomcat would not work occasionally and would not give us useful error messages. At the time, only Glassfish gave us useful information.

What specific version of GlassFish are you using?
Sun Java System Application Server 9.1_02 (build b04-fcs)

On what operating system do you run GlassFish?  Do you use the same OS for both development and production deployment?
Solaris. No, we develop on OS X.

On what hardware platform do you run GlassFish? 
We use Solaris zones that we purchase from our hosting vendor.

Have you purchased a GlassFish subscription?
LinkedIn has Sun support.

What specific features or modules of GlassFish are you using?
WAR file deployment. Logging. Web interface.

Are you using OpenMQ?
No

What do you like most about GlassFish?
It works!

What would you most like to see improved in GlassFish?
Working syslog, centralized logging, ability to set expires header. Hot reload of Ruby on Rails application without restart or undeploy/deploy. Secure properties so RoR apps don't need different WAR files for staging, dev and prod.

Are you using any open source or commercial frameworks or tools in your application?
Ruby on Rails, JRuby

Does your application use a database? If so, which one?
MySQL

Are there any figures about the scale of your adoption which you would like to share ?
LinkedIn Polls is a product we feature on-air with CNBC.

How has GlassFish performed since your application went live?
Autodeploy fails occasionally.
