Thomas Muller

Thomas Augusto Muller from Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, writes about web pages that are accessed by voice, currently used for flight and hotel booking, as well as accessing bank account information, for example. In his very detailed and visually attractive review, he walks us through the process of building a basic hotel reservation application with VoiceXML and how to run it using Glassfish and MySQL. He believes using these products for developing this type of  application is “incredibly easy.”

Varun Bhatia from University of Delhi, India, created a web service for a stock exchange that  allows users to log-in, view the companies listed, and buy and sell shares of the companies.  In his review, he walks us through why he chose to use MySQL, GlassFish, and NetBeans for his project, these tools' pro's and con's, and how helpful he found the assistance of his school's Sun Campus Ambassador in the process.
