Morehouse College OSUM students give back to community
Today I want
to highlight a blog post I found in OSUM.
What I think is so exciting is that the students who came together
through their shared interests and subsequent OSUM group have chosen to
selflessly give back to the community.
Micah
Streiff, Campus Ambassador and member of the Morehouse College OSUM,
reports that group members volunteered their time on Saturday at the Saint
Francis’ Table downtown at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Church in
Atlanta. St. Francis’ Table is a soup
kitchen that helps the poor, hungry, and homeless.
The Morehouse
College OSUM group served a meal at the soup kitchen, and Micah says there were
hundreds that came by. He reports that
student volunteers kept glasses full, served soup, coffee, and bread and helped
distribute toiletries and personal products.
Micah said
the group of volunteers was diverse, but each came to “serve those in need.”
Please join
me in applauding the members of the Morehouse College OSUM!
