Hello World!!!!!

Greetings all.... First of all an introduction to myself. My name is Maurice Bonotto and I am a blogger... well beginner blogger. Hopefully I will be able to, when I'm not out of the office on pre-sales and post-sales exercises, to give people an idea of the kinds of Desktop projects that I work on, and the fantastic products that we have.

I am the Desktop Practice's Technical Specialist working in the North Sydney Office in good old Australia and I have been doing desktop for around 10+ years, first starting with Windows 3.1 and DOS many years ago, then moving to Sun in 1996 as a pre-sales account Systems Engineer and since 1998 have been working with Sun desktop products ever since the ancient Java Station. I have worked on many different projects with Windows Interoperability and Terminal Services, JDS and other Alternate Desktops, Sun Ray Thin Clients, Tarantella, various RDP products, VNC and even Citrix.

You maybe asking why am I Sunray "Bruce"??? There are always interesting stories to nicknames and this is one within Sun Australia back in the day we were all Systems Engineers. Well "Bruce" was the nickname for Systems Engineers in Australia, so we had "Java Bruce" who was the Java Guru, Cluster Bruce,, Network Bruce, SCSI Bruce and so on... so as I was the original Sun Ray guru in Australia, my nickname is "Sun Ray Bruce". Bruce from memory (if I am not mistaken) came from Systems Engineer conference, where one of our US colleagues couldn't remember everyone's name, so those who he didn't know he called Bruce!! Aparently he said Bruce is the most known Australian name (I still don't think this is true). So from that point for the rest of the conference is anyone asked we all introduced ourselves as Bruce!!!

Some people also also refer to me as Don Mozza... as Mozza is my nickname, and Don because I am Italian background (my mum is Calabrese and Dad is from Verona in Italy), and my colleagues refer to me as "The Godfather" or "The Don" because I am good at "Fixing Problems!!!!" ;-)

In the next couple of days I am working on setting up a Sun Ray Server and Sun Secure Global Desktop on the same server, hopefully a Sun Fire X4100 server with Solaris 10X86... I will let everyone know how I go!!!!

Long weekend here we come!!!! I am off to the Hunter Valley for 3 days of wine sampling, massages, and great food and relaxation, maybe a hit of tennis, I can't wait..... For those from overseas Hunter Valley in the state of NSW in Australia is one of Australia's best wine country... personally I think Barossa Valley in Aouth Australia is the best.

Cyaz,
Maurice

Hello Bruce, Let me first introduce myself.I am Parul Sharma originally from India and workign in US for a cellular wireless company as a Data Coordinator (Tech troubleshooter) in US. They are introducing 2-in 1 badge with sunray in our company. I am interested in knowing more about its complexities or tips and tricks from the guru (You! :D). So, I am out of the 8 people who are selected to train people (eventually the whole call center) in using the sunray and if they have any issue we will try to resolve it with the help of offsite team. I probably should be more aware about what are we exactly using in terms of systems so its easier for you to answer. Anyways lookign forward to hearing back from you. Chow! -Parul
