Solaris Application Scaner tool
เมื่อวานนี้มีโอกาสได้คุยกับลูกค้าที่ใช้เครื่อง SunFire 25K, SunFire 15K กับ Solaris 8 ที่ใช้ชิป UltraSparc IV อยู่ เนื่องจากความต้องการทางธุระกิจที่มีการขยายตัวอย่างรวดเร็ว ทำให้มีความต้องการที่จะซื้ออุปกรณ์เพิ่มเติมโดยต้องการที่จะใช้ชิป UltraSpac IV+ ที่ความเร็วสุงสุดในปัจจุบัน แต่เนื่องจากการจะได้ประโยชน์สูงสุดจากการลงทุนนั้น จำเป็นต้องเปลี่ยนไปใช้ Solaris 9 ที่สามารถจัดการทางด้าน memory และ security ได้ดีขึ้นจากเดิมมาก คำถามที่ได้รับก็คือว่า จะต้องทำการทดสอบแอปพิเคชั่นอย่างไรให้มั่นใจว่าสามารถทำงานบน Solaris 9 ได้อย่างไม่มีปัญหา
ในอดีตการตอบคำถามข้างต้นต้องใช้เวลาและทีมงานมาช่วยกัน แต่ด้วย Sun Application Scanner Tool ทำให้เราได้รายงานออกมาในเวลาเพียงชั่วโมงเศษ ซึ่ง Tool นี้ครอบคลุมการทดสอบ components ต่างๆ บน Solaris 8,9 และ 10
