We are back in the training room for another round of product training. Logical Domains is not a product specific to the Network Team, but a technology that both the Network Team and the O/S Team will handle. Members of both groups will attend training.

I went last week, which was the first session of the class (16 hours). Additional classes are being held this week. Here's a tip: make sure you have all the required O/S and firmware patches to save time troubleshooting difficulties with services. The Hypervisor is, in popular Sun parlance, very cool stuff, but we all know about v.1.0 of anything new. Since none of this would be possible without the Hypervisor, keep it happy. See the Release notes for more details.

For those of you who say "ugh, patches!", this entry from Bart Smaalders' weblog on patching. The advice is sound and it's an interesting glimpse into how Engineering tackles patch management with all it's complexities. Bart coins a new term for the practice of picking and choosing patches to install: dim sum patching.
