New Open Source Doc Project

I saw a new project announced on OpenSolaris today that caught my eye: Printable Many Page Solaris Manual Project. The project leader is David Lloyd. There aren't a lot of project specifics out there right now, but I like the problem it is trying to solve. In terms of content, it aimis to develop content specifically for a new user who is migrating to Solaris. In terms of format, the project states it will use an open standard format for source.


It will be interesting to see what solution emerges from this project. The problem statements it seeks to solve are shared by many open source projects. Maybe this will become a model for other open source documentation projects.

"Many" pages? Or man pages? The project page doesn't tell you which discussion list to use...

The project is using the docs-discuss@opensolaris.org discuss list. I think "many" is intentional. This is clearly not man pages.
