Java CAPS 6 Update 1 is now available from the Sun Download Center. The Java CAPS 6 docs have been updated on both SDN and docs.sun.com.
What's New in Java CAPS Release 6 Update 1 details new features you will find in this update release. There are new JBI components, JCA adapters, enhancements to MDM, and more. The Java CAPS doc site on SDN has been updated and enhanced. The By Product view has been significantly enhanced during the past few months. There is a new page for the Sun Master Data Management Suite, which describes the features of the suite and links to all of the product documentation.
Many new topics have been added to the By Topic view. Additionally, the topics are now classified as either Classic Java CAPS, Java EE Based Components, or JBI Based Components. There is a new topic category for JBI as well.
The doc group has also been busy working on screencasts and tutorials for this release, which you can find on SDN under the Tutorials tab. Many of these are collaborative efforts between Sun writers, developers and/or the FAST team.
Speaking of collaboration, there's a lot of exciting collaboration going on at the Java CAPS space on wikis.sun.com. In addition to release notes, component information and more tutorials and screencasts, there is a wealth of information under Grok Java CAPS. There are over 30 contributors to Grok Java CAPS, and not all of them are Sun-badged. Check it out-- you'll find lots of use cases for Java CAPS and solutions that have been developed. Contact
caps-wiki-gov-ext@sun.com if you want to contribute to the site with your Java CAPS solutions.

Sun just announced the first milestone release for GlassFish ESB today. GlassFish ESB is a binary release of components from Open ESB. When GlassFish ESB is released, it will be the first Sun-supported release of Open ESB components.
The docs group is an integral part of Sun's project team, doing a lot more than "just docs." Without naming names, doc group work has included:
The doc team is working side-by-side with the developers and other team members to produce this new release, which leverages open source components and the work of the Open ESB community. There's more documentation coming, in addition to screencasts and other training materials. We're partnering with whoever we can to publish more content. This is all about collaboration and community. Send your feedback to
users@open-esb.dev.java.net. Let us know if we can partner with you to develop more than " just docs" for Open ESB.

docs.sun.com, Sun's documentation website, has delivered on one of our customer's most common requests-- PDF downloads at the collection level. Look for the [zip] next the collection title, and click! In some instances you can also download the entire product set. I now have the entire Java CAPS and Sun B2B Suite doc sets on my laptop, in PDF. You can too.

Java CAPS 6 has been released. We pulled off the the "early access" banner from all of the docs on the Sun Developer Network (SDN). There are still some gaps, but it's mostly there.
One of the known gaps are pdf versions of the topic docs. We are working to add links to pdf versions that are available for download. In the meantime, you can still go to docs.sun.com, Sun's documentation website, to download the pdf. You can find the collections at the following links:
