The Real Golf Score

It seems that Golf is a game designed for people to cheat.

It is a standard practice for weekend golfers to reload when they have a bad tee-off. Then there is this concept of Mulligan that is an euphemism for do-over. If you read the official rules, there are many entries on how to take relieves. Believe me, weekend golfers relieve themselves freely.

The difference between "drop" and "toss" is frequently a subject of interpretation. I myself employ the special one-kick rule -- I can kick the ball once to improve the lie, obviously without any penalties. Oh, I also have the double jeopardy rule. If I have already lost the ball, I am not accepting any more penalties in scores.

I should be breaking 100 soon. Guess I will re-read the rules then.

I usually break 100 by about the 9th hole. At that point, I quit to give the other players a chance to catch up.
