So, the event is in full swing for the second day of testing. As far as setup goes, both Connectathons and Bakeathons either seem to go so smoothly you never notice it or it is a train wreck. This year it is a train wreck.
It never seems to be the fault of any one individual or a single failure. Instead what seems to happen is a series of small events cascade to overwhelm us.
The good news is that we have a great team in the NOC and the people on the floor are more than willing to help. I've mentioned this in the past, but these events are very cooperative and not competitive.
One way that this manifests itself is that we are changing the talk schedule to accommodate unforeseen conflicts. One presenter is still arriving when he is supposed to talk, one needs another present during the talk, etc. People accommodate each other. This is a subtle reminder to go check the schedule before you head over for the talks. (Talks 09)
So we've managed to overcome the slow start and are already finding issues with each others code. All in all, a pretty normal time at Cthon.
