It was a long time coming, but the docs.sun.com Engineering Team recently implemented--in my opinion--awesome leaps in performance to docs.sun.com. They point out that users should see:
This release is a strong step in the right direction to rebuild the faith of users of docs.sun.com in the site. We look forward to announcing many more improvements over the coming months.
But don't take their word for it. Here's a snapshot of my experience.
In the search box, I typed "network-attached storage devices" and within a second I got spot-on hits, the first two of which were exactly the hits I wanted.

docs.sun.com has gone from rots to ROCKS!
Try it, you'll like it.

I had a better docs.sun.com experience a few months ago, but it is back to being very slow for me now. When trying to dig into the JES 5 ub-pages it is sometimes taking a min or two per page.

In fact it has gone to Rocks (which I haven't seen ever) to Rots: The Next Level. Frequently pages time out, usually when I need them the most. -cfs

Well, I don't want to be like Lucy, and keep pulling the football from under you all, but the docs.sun.com engineering team assures us (us being Sun employees) that "docs.sun.com's performance woes are in the past". Apparently, a firmware upgrade has resolved the problem.
Yeah, I realize you've all heard *that* before, but it does appear to be once again working as well as it was working last July, *IMO*. But, as always, you be the judge.
