Netbeans presentation @ SFU: Java Application Development & Software Engineering Tool
Today I completed my fourth presentation within 19 days period! Looking at my summer schedule since the beginning of May, I feel like I've been working harder than the entire previous Spring semester.
- May 18th: OpenSolaris presentation
- May 23rd: Temple of the Sun and Sun Studio Mixer session
- May 31st: Open Possibilities @ CS SFU presentation
- June 6th: Developing Desktop Java Application and Software Engineering tool with Netbeans 5.5
The topics I presented today was:
- Introduction to Netbeans IDE for Java Application Development
- UML Modeling module in Netbeans
- Java GUI development with Matisse
- Netbeans Subversion integration
- Team programming with Netbeans Developer Collaboration module

Me opening the session and introducing Netbeans

Engaging audience

Showing the coding demo

Distributing Netbeans CDs and wrapping things up

Working hard!
Additional Netbeans resources and tutorials:
- Netbeans IDE download page
- Netbeans UML module
- SVN Integration with Netbeans tutorial
- Matisse GUI Builder in Netbeans 5.5 tutorial
- Netbeans Developer Collaboration module
All in all, within this period of 19 days, 43 copies of Solaris Express Developer Edition DVDs and 25 Netbeans 5.5 CDs were distributed. The number might not be so significant comparing to my colleagues from South America and Asia; but, many feedbacks from the audience have been positive and very encouraging.
Special thanks to my buddy, Warit from Thailand for Netbeans CDs!
