Fronleichnam

Today is Fronleichnam here in Bavaria. I have no idea what that means, but it's a state holiday, so it's got to be a good thing. It's a gorgeous day; the birds are singing; the wind is blowing; everyone is out working in their gardens. Except me. I'm sitting here alone in the office working. My boss' boss' boss' boss tapped me to work on a critical project which is due tomorrow. Thankfully it's not due until tomorrow California time. That gives me 9 more hours. In any case, I have to work today if I want any hope of getting it done on time.

Don't feel too sorry for me, though. One nice thing about working in Regensburg is that if I work a holiday or a weekend or even more than 8 hours in a normal work day, I can take the overtime later as comp time. That means that I'm not so much losing a holiday as moving it around a little. Since I haven't a clue what Fronleichnam is, that's OK with me.
