New content in the SJS external Sun wiki - Layered Architectures

The layered architectures presentation is now available on the external Sun wiki. This presentation describes in high level terms how to use the features of load balancers and the Directory Server Enterprise Edition to create highly available, massively redundant LDAP MMR infrastructures.

The rat hole effect

The "rat hole effect": reading an article on Wikipedia at time T, and ending up in a completely unrelated area at time T + 20 with no clear memory of navigating to the unrelated area. How I ended up at the Star Trek article after starting at the article on LDAP may never be clearly explained. And I am not sure said explanation should ever darken the doors of elucidation.
