The rat hole effect
The "rat hole effect": reading an article on Wikipedia at time T, and ending up in a completely unrelated area at time T + 20 with no clear memory of navigating to the unrelated area. How I ended up at the Star Trek article after starting at the article on LDAP may never be clearly explained. And I am not sure said explanation should ever darken the doors of elucidation.
