Unread messages on Mac Mail application
When switching to Mac from Windows - always a good decision by the way - some folks will elect to use the Mac Mail application instead of Thunderbird (a matter of taste). When so doing they get stuck trying to figure out how to see "unread" messages. In Thunderbird, one can type 'n' to go to the next unread message. How to do this Mac Mail?
The answer is not so much about the next unread message or keyboard shortcuts as it is about a larger topic: Smart Mailboxes. Smart Mailboxes are incredibly powerful. They are virtual, dynamic mailboxes! Here's a short list of some of my Smart Mailboxes:
The "Unread Messages" Smart Mailbox will contain all messages that are unread. The reason I created the "Older Than 180 Days" and similar Smart Mailboxes is that these messages can be archived and deleted - but that is another blog post.
