Two of the key new features in GlassFish V2 are cluster management and load balancing. Milestone 1 has the first installment (all Open Source, of course - check the putback message) and Dinesh has just published two relevant notes. In his Blog Entry Dinesh describes how to build a, new-style (with the new EE features) GF V2 and how to build the old-style GlassFish V1. He also shows how to install the new bundles in the, most common, single instance arrangement (the only available in GF V1) and ready for clustering. |
Dinesh's second document explains how to Front the Cluster with a Load Balancer, with detailed instructions for the case of Sun Web Server 6.1.
This is an early milestone, expect improvements on all of this by the next Milestone, M2. The roadmap and more details are available here.
