One of the JavaOne 2007 announcements was the signing of the OpenJDK Charter and the creation of the Interim Governance Board. Here in the GlassFish Community we almost took these steps during the Open Java Launch, but ended up delaying it. Now, with all the new Projects and Partners the urgency has increased, so time to get it done! As I mentioned during GlassFish Day and during the GlassFish BOF, we are going to get it done ASAP. Karen and Tom have already agreed to the general idea and we will adjust the OpenJDK proposal. Expect a formal announcement sometime this summer. |
