GlassFish's Ancestor: Sun Java System AS 8.2
  Posted by pelegri in Sun

Fish Fossil from the Cretaceous

I'm doing some cleanup of my news pipeline and I notice a few items that didn't make it out when we mentioned the release of SJS AS 8.2 (used in the latest J2EE 1.4 SDK):

Nandini writes about some new administration features, specially the way JConsole can be used out-of-the-box; Jane describes the New CLI Commands; and Sun's press release trumpeted the More than 1 million subscribers to JES and the new SPECjAppServer2004 results.

All of this is relevant to this audience because GlassFish inherits all these features.

Comments:

Is there a 8.2 Enterprise Edition available?

Mikael, There is no 8.2 Enterprise Edition yet - it will be part of the next Java ES release - which will be available a little later in the year.

Look out for the beta announcement.
