Sun just published the SPECjAppServer 2004 results for SJSAS 9 PE which is built on GlassFish. See Scott's blog for details on the configuration tested. The results are outstanding: Yet our result shows a 167% improvement over that previous submission -- a substantial improvement in the software layer no matter how you look at it. Robert also blogged about the results and points out that the Java EE SDK which includes SJSAS 9 PE, was developed through project GlassFish. He writes: Pushing the price performance envelope, Sun's result of 712 JOPS and price performance of $72/JOPS on a complete Free OSS stack including of total acquisition cost for Java EE application server, database software and hardware. |
