Java SE 6 is out... and GlassFish v1 Takes Advantage of it

Java SE 6 is out and it seems a very solid release with kudos from many, including JAG and RLG. I'd recommend to start by checking Danny's Top 10 Reasons.

Out of the box performance has improved substantially; see David's blog and this report, and this is also the experience with GlassFish, check Scott's blog on the new SpecJAppServer submission.

Comments:

We're about to publish a portal application with JDK6 and Glassfish v1 on RHEL4, but we've hit a problem where LDAP authentication leaks file descriptors, lsof reports a ever growing number of pipes. Do you know if this is a known problem, since this doesn't happen with JDK5.

Hi, Would you know how I can use JSR-115(JACC) with your new releases ? Any blog entry of doc. explaining this is helpful. Thanks, Mohan
