JSR-311 has been accepted by the Executive Committee to continue development in the JCP. The vote was almost unanimous, with only one abstention (see vote results). Check the Original Submission but note that, in response to a request from the Apache representative, we have changed the name of the specification to JAX-RS: The Java API for RESTful Web Services and the proposed name of the package to javax.ws.rs Now it is the turn of the Expert Group, and the wider community, to put together a good specification. Many people have expressed interest in contributing - check this list collected by Jerome - so I think the chances are pretty good. The implementation will be carried in the GlassFish community. |
