MIME is a standard used for attaching content of different types to another main payload. It is used in email communication and also is part of HTTP and Web Services requests. Its centrality means its implementations has substantial impact in performance. We have different APIs for accessing MIME but the implementation can be optimized for some special usage patterns, like for JAX-WS and that is what the new Mime Pull project does. Mime Pull is used in Metro and should be useful in Jersey. Check out Jitu's writeup for details. |
